To better support you, the FIABVB is now WVBF
World Volleyball and
Beach Volleyball Federation
“MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR 2007”
TO ALL TRUE VOLLEY AND BEACH VOLLEYBALL MEMBERS!
(Lausanne, 17.12.06) – Founded in Copenhagen on 25th November 06, the FIABVB
(formally the International Federation of the Beach Volleyball and
Volleyball Associations) has actually a tremendous growth, with already
around 50 National federations and more than 40 Individuals. To comply with
the Congress democratic hope, the Board of Administration, presided by the
Swiss Jean-Pierre Seppey, made its first decision to improve its appellation
and its “corporate identity” to its actual philosophy: a World Federation
dedicated to the ethic and to the solidarity in favor of Volleyball and
Beach Volleyball. Therefore, the new appellation is:
• World Volleyball and Beach Volleyball Federation (WVBF)
• Fédération Mondiale de Volleyball et de Beach Volleyball (FMVB)
• Federación Mundial de Voleibol y de Beach Voleibol (FMVB)
Modern, pragmatic and ambitious, the initials WVBF/FMVB correspond to the
wish of our National Federations and institutional and economical partners
who joined us for 2007 and for some until 2010.
The WVBF thanks all the members and partners for their support and their
huge enthusiasm. We pledge to listen to you and to do our best in
encouraging you to reach your objectives in the year 2007. Moral, human,
financial and technical support: everything will be organized for your
athletes to practice Volleyball and Beach Volleyball at all levels and under
the best conditions.

Do not hesitate and be not afraid to join us since the FIVB of the Mexican
Ruben Acosta, denounced by several National Olympic Committees, has just
been severely sanctioned by the IOC Executive Committee because FIVB does
not respect the Olympic rules and spirit but privileges only the richest
National Federations and their financial interests.
From now on to adhere to the new ethic, transparent and democratic WVBF is
the best way for the National federations who apply the solidarity,
friendship and the Olympic fundaments to the development of their sport!
