African Volleyball star joins the WVBF Lausanne, 28 May 2007 – One of the main issues for which large sport organizations have been criticized is their lack of interest in the reintegration of top athletes in new careers. As a pioneer in the area of ethics and transparency as well as in equal North-South development opportunities, the World Volleyball and Beach Volleyball Federation (WVBF) practices a different policy which is concrete and at the athletes’ service. As WVBF Vice-president and in charge of international development, Mrs Geneviève Mendoza-Lavanchy, is pleased to announce the participation of a great Volleyball player on the WVBF management team. Alain Denguessi, 41, from France/Cameroon, three times best African setter, one time best spiker, selected 300 times on the Cameroon national team, twice African Nations Cup Champions. Mr. Denguessi is joining the WVBF as its Technical and Development Director. “Besides his valuable technical competence, Alain Denguessi is experienced in people skills as well as an excellent teacher,” said WVBF president, Jean-Pierre Seppey. “His knowledge and understanding of Africa are a decisive plus for the success of the development projects that we have planned for that continent,” he added. |
