The Slovenian pair PIVK-GRILC wins the WVBFProseries Tour leg in Tirolo An audience of more than 4’000 spectators during the 2 day competitions TIROLO- There were two victories in fact, one of the Slovenian pair Alexander Pivk and Igor Grilc and the second one of the warm and numerous spectators (around 4’000 spectators) who participated to the 2 day feast in Tirolo, the host city of the 2007 WVBFProseries World Championship Tour third leg. Hardened and experienced, Pick and Grilc defeated at the final the pair of David Llop (ESP) and Lazaro Milian (CUB) in 2 sets (21-18, 21-17). All the qualification matches were won by the Slovenian pair whose nicknames are “Jedu” (Grilc) and “Poko” (Pivk). The Swiss Bernhard Vesti and Martin Tschudi conquered 3rd place by defeating the italo-brazil pair Piero Antonini and Junior (21-16, 21-19). Four women athletes were playing the Tirolo competitions (each athlete changing her partner for each match) Denise Koeliker (SUI), the Carioca Angie Gomzales, and the two Italian players Luna Pietrucci and Manuele Maltese. The tourism office participated actively to the Tirolo WVBFProseries Tour success perfectly organized by Sport&More agency of Lana. The city of Burgraviato will host this WVBFProseries leg and the players from USA, Brazil, Switzerland, Cuba, Spain, San Marino and Italy for the next five years. The special pool for the happy VIP was won by “Montres Delux” the former ski champion Isolde Kostner, the thirty year old giant athlete David Simoncelli, Walther Baumgartner, the Norway skier Bjarne Solbakken and Armin Hilpold who defeated in final “Auto Ikaro” Irene Pernstich, Peter Assion, Werner Margreiterm, Zeno Breitenberg and Geinhoff. Were also present the top players Nicole Gius (alpine skiing), Freddy Schweinbacher (Nordic skiing), Chiara Costazza (alpine skiing), Pepi Strobl (alpine skiing), Mirko Deflorian (alpine skiing), the former skater Nicolas Mayr, the hockey players Martin Pavlu and Christian Timpone, the politicians Elena Artioli and Elamr Pichler Rolle. The WVBFProseries Tour was honored by the presence and support of Mr. Durnwalder, Province President, who handed the awards to the winners. The 2007 WVBFProseries World Championship Tour will follow its routing to the famous resort of Kranjska Gora (Slovenia) from 13 to 16 July 07 |
