Mix & Remix pencil stroke for the new World Volleyball and Beach
Volleyball Federation WVBF T-shirt produced by TEXNER The very well known cartoonist Philippe Becquelin, alias Mix & Remix, unanimously appreciated for his drawings’ authenticity and causticity, has accepted to support the sport by creating the WVBF Beach Volleyball logo. After a diploma from ECAL, the International Arts Institution of Lausanne, he started his career by revolutionizing the art in Switzerland. From Dolce Vita posters to several underground publications as draughtsman. Thanks to his style, he became very fast the image and the key representative of the new illustrators’ wave. “By creating cartoons for supports different from my press drawings, I have tackled a true challenge. My purpose was to give to my creation an immediate identification to Beach Volleyball and to invite everybody to play with humor”, stated Mix & Remix. Thanks to his creation for numerous charitable organizations, NOG or private companies suddenly he found himself at the head of the press and the illustration’s world. Very critical on the Swiss politic and economic, he got soon the reputation to be a public agitator, however everybody recognizes his delicacy and the fact that he knows all the Ins and Outs of the Swiss national and international politic. After having been on watch of the cathedral for 3 years, he was hired by Hebdo Magazine where his page becomes very fast one of the key pillars. He has also participated to a lot of projects in other newspapers in Switzerland and abroad. Contacted by his long-time friend, Philippe Mayor, WVBF Member and President of the new Swiss Volleyball and Beach Volleyball Union, Mix & Remix has accepted, free of charge, to create the Beach Volleyball logo, which with talent, humor, youth and dynamism, fits ideally with the spirit of the two new national and international Volleyball and Beach Volleyball Associations. “I am proud to present Mix & Remix work as the new WVBF and USVB flag for Beach Volleyball which will be developed democratically in Switzerland and in the world”, stated Philippe Mayor.
