First leg of the 2008 WVBF Proseries Beach Volleyball World Tour 2008 in Cochabamba

Cochabamba, Bolivia, 21 April 2008 - Success reached its peak in Cochabamba, Bolivia at the closing of the first leg of the 2008 WVBF Proseries Beach Volleyball World Tour by the first vice president of the WVBF, Mr. Luis Moreno.

After three intense days and an impressive number of spectators at the Olympic Park in Cochabamba, the USA team Elizabeth Pagano and Patricia Keller took the lead beating the Brazilian pair Ana Teixeira and Marly De Souza 25–23; 23 -21 breaking their long term supremacy in Bolivian soil.

The party continued with a remarkable Closing Ceremony that the organizer had reserved for the occasion. It took place in the presence of local authorities, sponsors, media, WVBF leaders as well as Mr. Roberto Pavisic, a South American Beach Volleyball patriarch, together with his son Bernardo Pavisic, president of the Bolivian National Volleyball Association.

It was a very favourable opportunity to reward the USA and the Brazilian teams, who had qualified in Bolzano, Italy, as well as the pairs from Argentina, Peru, Dominican Republic and Bolivia who achieved recognition before a great group of fans who were once again pleased to enjoy a wonderful Beach Volleyball performance after six years of absence.

But this is not the end. While just today host Cochabamba said farewell to the visiting women athletes, it is already preparing to welcome the men’s teams from Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Slovenia, United States and Dominican Republic who will continue with the festivities on Friday 25 April beginning with a new game of another leg of the 2008 WVBF Proseries Beach Volleyball World Tour.
