World Volleyball and Beach Volleyball Federation Headquarters inauguration in the heart of Lausanne Lausanne, 6 May 2008 - The WVBF, World Volleyball and Beach Volleyball Federation, its employees and several Board members presented yesterday to the media their new premises located in the heart of Lausanne at Rue Pépinet 3.Founded on 26 November in Copenhagen, the WVBF has the mission to develop Volleyball and Beach Volleyball with ethics, professionalism and transparency worldwide with a special priority towards the underprivileged countries. Ethics, fair play, solidarity, financial transparency and democratic principles of the Olympic Charter are respected daily and in a concrete manner by the WVBF. Faithful to the Olympic fundamental principle “Sport’s money for Sport”, the world Volleyball institution has rented functional and well located offices in order to continue to support its affiliated members with sport, technical and technological materials. The attachment of the WVBF founders and employees to the city of Lausanne, together with their numerous partners and local residents’ support have in a natural way once again drawn the WVBF’s ethical movement to the Olympic city.Our headquarters doors and phone lines are from now on open to all Beach Volleyball and Volleyball friends who, like us, pursue an ethical sport and game for children, teenagers and adults who seek soundness of body and mind. « More than ever, sport is a universal language that plays the role of catalyst in today’s society as a means of improving quality of life and well being » says Dr. Jacques Rogge, IOC President. |
